Tourisms in Poland
Poland is a part of the global tourism market with
constantly increasing number of visitors. Tourism in Poland contributes to the
country's overall economy. The most popular cities are Kraków, Wrocław, Gdańsk,
Warsaw, Poznań, Lublin, Toruń and the historic site of Auschwitz - German nazi
concentration camp in Oświęcim. The best recreational destinations include
Poland's Masurian Lake District, Baltic Sea coast, Tatra Mountains (the highest
mountain range of Carpathians), Sudetes and Białowieża Forest. Poland's main
tourist offers consist of sightseeing within cities and out-of-town historical
monuments, business trips, qualified tourism, agrotourism, mountain hiking
(trekking) and climbing among others. Poland is the 17th most visited country
in the world by foreign tourists, as ranked by World Tourism Organization
(UNWTO) in 2012.
1. Wroclaw Zoo
The Wrocław Zoological Garden, known simply as the
Wrocław Zoo is the oldest zoo in Poland, having been opened in 1865. It is also the
largest (in terms of the number of animals) zoo in Poland. The zoo covers 33
hectares (82 acres) in downtown Wrocław. It is home about 12,000 animals
representing about 1,100 species.
The zoo includes among others: Africarium-Oceanarium,
Madagascar pavilion, Odrarium, Terrarium, Ropes course Zoolandia, Children's
Zoo, Rancho, food and drinks outlets. Wrocław Zoo is the most visited zoo in Poland.

2. The Royal–Imperial Route in Poznań
The Royal-Imperial Route in Poznań is a
tourist walk running through the most important parts of the city and presenting
the history, culture and identity of Poznań. The Route leads in a westward
direction, from The Church of St. John Jerusalem behind the Wall to the Church
of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and St. Florian.
The Royal–Imperial Route in Poznań is an idea of a tourist
product that would combine important places and historical monuments of the
city. "The Royal – Imperial Route" axis provides cultural, artistic
and educational events that integrate the activities of all parties concerned
and are the platform for co-operation of various entities: public
administration, culture and science institutions, representatives of the
academic circle, and tourist organisations. That is why "The
Royal–Imperial Route" is Poznań's first complete partner project in which
the City Hall motivates the other parties to work for the development of
cultural tourism of the city and region.
